Here’s an interesting article by Megan Bedard from www.takepart.com that I stumbled on today:
It talks about the rate of infection in the dairy industry, along with how often Food and Drug Administration officials inspect dairy and produce (once a decade). She cites articles written by The Washington Post and ABC News Report, and also talks about what people can do to support healthy cows, including buying locally and supporting small farmers.
She writes, “Responsible farmers should be able to tell you what their cows eat, how they’re treated, and whether they are subjected to dehorning. Or, use the Eat Well Guide to find sustainably sourced food near you.”
